Manual‘s Anti-hero poster, the San Francisco-based studio’s Tom Crabtree explains, “is based on the widely held assumption that the deliberate neutrality of modernist typefaces can be seen as ‘the hero with a thousand faces’ of the font world.”

Taking place at London’s beautiful Royal Geographical Society on June 21, expect an expertly-curated programme of inspirational talks, creative experiments and live elements from over a dozen renowned creatives. The jam-packed line-up includes, Berlin-based art director and set designer Sarah Illenberger, New York-based visual artist Rafaël Rozendaal, award-winning set designer and creative director Es Devlin, French experience designer Nelly Ben Hayoun, legendary British designer Wayne Hemingway and Erik Kessels, the renowned creative director of Amsterdam-based communications agency KesselsKramer.

The programme also features celebrated editorial designer Mark Porter, multi-disciplinary illustrator Andy Rementer, Stuart Wood, founding member of rAndom International, writer and director Adam Buxton, renowned graphic artist and art director Kate Moross and Spanish directors’ collective CANADA among other programme highlights. Each of the speakers will be sharing their practice, insights and expertise, and giving a behind-the-scenes look at their process.
